Pavilion dv2000 Series Long life battery are shipped out to customer in a discharged condition or with very low capacity and must be drained before use. We generally recommend an overnight charge (approximately twelve hours). Refer to the user's manual for charging instructions. Rechargeable HP battery should be cycled (fully charged and then fully discharged) three to five times initially to make them reach their full capacity.
